About Carter
Our son, Carter, was born July 15, 2022 with a rare heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He essentially has half of a heart and had undergone 2 open heart surgeries and multiple other procedures. In February of 2025, a routine echo showed leakage from his tricuspid valve and we received news that he is in heart failure. This summer we will begin the process of listing Carter for a heart transplant. He will be able to live at home while waiting for his new heart. The timeline is unknown, we expect a year or longer since the list he will be on is thankfully not the list for immediate/emergent situations. Please be in prayer that Carter remains healthy at home and does not have to be hospitalized, for our family as we navigate this emotional journey, and for the donor's family. We appreciate the love and support shown to our family and treasure it in our hearts.
Please join us for a Night of Celebration for Carter on July 6, 2025 at 5pm at Memorial Baptist Church. The event and food is free, but donations are welcome.
